A talk by WEM’s Curator, Bob Potenza, on the Jimbo exhibit.
Jim “Jimbo” Campano: Hero of the West End, an exhibit running through February 2025, is a tribute to the life of Jim Campano, the chief founder of The West End Museum. This special exhibit follows Jim’s journey that started as a young boy living with his large Italian-Lithuanian family on Poplar Street in the West End in the 1940s, and whose life was forever changed by the destruction of his beloved neighborhood in 1958. Through words, images, and artifacts taken from The Museum’s archives, visitors will experience Jim’s development into a lifelong activist, dedicated to the preservation of the Old West End’s memory and the dream of bringing his “neighborhood of the mind” back to the physical space where it belonged.
