Join the Walks! team led by MJ Shultz to expand our horizons with Cambridge Villagers!
We’ll take the Mattapan Trolley from Ashmont 4 minutes to the Milton stop. From there
we’ll see the reuse and beautiful restoration of the Baker Chocolate Factory into condos
on the Neponset River in Dorchester Lower Mills. We’ll walk along the river on a paved
path on the riverwalk in the Neponset River Reservation. Lunch is planned in the Milton
area.

We will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the end of the line, Ashmont, and board the trolley
together. Take the Red Line southbound, being sure to get on an Ashmont car lest you
end up in Braintree. You should plan to allow no less than 30 minutes for the trip from
the center of town to Ashmont. Follow the sign at the Up escalator for the Mattapan
Line. We will gather on the trolley platform. We will wait 10 minutes. If you’ll be late or
absent, please call either the leader or the office. There are opportunities for parking at
UMass - join the Ashmont Red Line at JFK station; at the Ashmont T station - meet the
group at the trolley platform; and in Milton near Baker Chocolate - skip the T altogether.
