We will gather at the JFK/UMASS station on the Red Line and at 10:30 we will take the UMASS BOSTON (UMB) shuttle bus to the campus center. From there we will walk about 1.5 miles on sections of Boston's HARBOR WALK which trace the outline of the campus along the harbor. The path is paved and mostly flat. It will go past the JFK Presidential Library and the State Archives of Massachusetts. We will see remnants of the old Boston sewer system which pumped sewage into the bay until the 1960's.
If the weather gods are with us we should have VIVID views of Boston's outer Harbor, and some of the islands.
At the end of the walk those of us interested in lunch will eat in one of the campus dormitory dining areas which provides a wide variety of food.

The walk is free, and guests are welcome. Registration is very highly recommended for BV members, and guests, in order that your name is on the notification list in case of a weather cancellation. BV members can register a guest themselves or contact the BV Office to register their guest, guests must be registered in association with a BV member. You will receive the complete meet-up details when you register.
